Step 1: Evaluating Sky Blue's Services and Offers
Unlike most credit repair companies, Sky Blue seems to have a somewhat streamlined service. There aren't a bunch of confusing options and service levels to choose between.
There is, however, a discount for signing up with your spouse called the "couples discount."
In order to use Sky Blue, they require that you supply them with a "tri-merge" credit report. If you do not already have access to a tri-merge credit report (which is a credit report that contains information from all three bureaus on it) then they say that they will provide you with their favorite low cost option for obtaining one.
They then review your credit report line-by-line, and note issues that are harming your credit score. Then comes the part you are likely paying for -- they challenge items with the credit bureaus, and send their responses directly to you so you can see the results as they occur.
In the event that the challenged items on your credit report are not removed or corrected, Sky Blue sends out re-disputes to attempt the process again, presumably until success or termination of the service by you.
Make sure that you take the time to read the companies "How it Works" page, as well as getting an understanding of all their associated costs. The best place to do that is on their home page (linked below) -- it will open in a new window so that once you're done, you can return to this review because in the next section I will share customer feedback that I've found by those claiming to be past or current users of the Sky Blue service..

Step 2: Finding Customer Feedback and Reviews of the Sky Blue Service
The best way to sort through the promises and the advertising and really have a more accurate idea of whether or not a credit repair companies does as it promises is to look for actual customer feedback. Unsatisfied customers in particular are usually an especially vocal bunch.
We had some difficulty finding such reviews of Sky Blue which I will explain later. Here are some quotes I found from websites with no obvious connection to Sky Blue Credit. These are not the testimonials from the official webpage. These are comments found elsewhere.
The comments below are sorted into three distinct categories. Postiive comments are enclosed in a green box, neutral comments are inside a yellow box, and negative comments or complaints are within a red box.
Please note that this is only supplemental feedback; for a more complete profile of this company, you may wish to do your own research by checking with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
First, let's start with the positive comments on Sky Blue:
" My wife and I used sky blue after we had a bankruptcy in 2005. We thought they did a great job getting all of our accounts reporting correctly. Our attorney just left us hanging after we paid him to complete the bankrupcty. They never told us they could remove it. They were really nice to work with and just got the accounts straight. We were only with them for 3 months. Hope this helps."

"Just wanted to let you know that I used Sky Blue credit repair last year. I really thought that the did a good job with my credit report. I was able to buy a $ 40,000 car when all was said in done. You can do it yourself if you have the time. What they saved me in intrest on the car loan paid for there service. Used them for about 6 months. But you have to help yourself also. I'm happy..."

Although I searched the internet for well over an hour looking at every piece of Sky Blue feedback I could find, it was extremely d ifficult to find complaints from actual users of the service. While finding opinions on credit repair in general was not hard, finding feedback that meets our criteria for this review was difficult because the opinions presented on Sky Blue Credit are largely diluted by those whose opinions are not relevant.
The type of comments I was searching for were those from people who have actually used Sky Blue's services and either have something positive or negative to say about them specifically. Instead, I found many people expressing ideas such as "you can do what they do yourself" or "all credit repair services are probably a scam."
I found comments such as these unhelpful. You can do many things yourself -- you can cut your own lawn, change your own car oil, do your own plumbing, and cook every meal yourself, but many people find it worth it to pay professionals to do it for them anyway.
Equally unhelpful are stereotypes such as "all credit repair services are scams", as I certainly don't believe that to be the case, although most financial services have been somewhat malaligned over the past couple decades so I understand why people would make such a blanket statement.
There are many reviews of Sky Blue available on the internet, but most of them appear to be conducted by commercial websites that have not used the service themselves.
The comments I found from people who appeared to have actually used the service and (presumably) had no other connection to Sky Blue were mostly positive in nature, although they did report using the service for months to achieve such results -- make sure to take that into account.
It is unlikely that Sky Blue will rush to get everything off your report in the first month.
More real user feedback for Sky Blue that we just didn't find is certainly out there somewhere, and this review will be treated like a living document -- as new user experiences with the Sky Blue service are found, I will add them to this page.
On that note, if you are a user of Sky Blue, please send us your feedback so you can help others like yourself make more informed decisions! I don't care if your experience is positive, negative, or neutral -- please send it in! Contact Info
Step 3: Background Information
While SkyBlue has been around for a while (their website states that they've been doing credit repair since 1989), it never hurts to gather as much information as possible on a company that you will be going into business with, especially for a period of months (potentially).
They state in their "About Us" section of their website that they are in compliance with the necesarry rules, regulations, and laws governing the credit repair industry in the United States.
Be sure to understand their refund policy. As of the time of this writing, their refund policy is listed as follows:
"We offer the most simple and reassuring guarantee in the business. If you are not satisfied we will refund your money in full.
Our guarantee is not meant to imply a promise of a specific outcome, but to assure you of the consistency of our service and to provide a remedy in the case of dissatisfaction."
Thus, while results are not guaranteed, it sounds like the return of your money should you be unsatisfied is.
The Verdict on Sky Blue Credit - Does Sky Blue Really Work?
Rather than see things as black and white, I'm going to assume that Sky Blue falls into the big "grey area" that is life.
The opposers of credit repair services point out that you can learn to fix your own credit -- and that is definitely true. While learning to write dispute letters can be daunting, it's not exactly rocket science.
Still, hiring people who do such a thing all day long to do it for you must have its merits. You are leveraging their experience and saving yourself the research, time, and effort involved with disputing your credit items yourself.
Just be aware that because they charge on a monthly basis, they are unlikely to "finish" their work in the first month -- expect to invest a little more time.
I don't need to remind you of the importance of a good credit score. Is it worth the $49 that SkyBlue charges to get started? That's up to you.
